Approximately Up Missions & Objectives
Objectives in Approximately Up have names, and since patch 1.0.006 the Objectives Log shows a completion percentage — the developer added it so you could see how much of the game is left. What no source publishes is a full list. This page collects the 21 objective names that appear somewhere you can check, and is honest about the split: 8 have a patch note or devlog behind them, and the rest are names people are searching for while stuck, with no published description of what they ask for.

| Objective | Where | What is known |
|---|---|---|
| Tree Lid | Baobara | Rewards one Space GPS block. Added as a reward in patch 1.0.104. Patch 1.0.100 specifically improved depenetration for the Tree Lid package, so it is a carry-and-mount objective. Source: Patches 1.0.100 and 1.0.104 |
| Operation Ghostfire | The Moon | Rewards three Massmeter blocks, added in patch 1.0.104. Source: Patch 1.0.104 |
| Baobara Interference | Baobara | Its in-game hints were rewritten in patch 1.0.110, which usually means players were getting stuck on it. Source: Patch 1.0.110 |
| Drop The Depth Diver | Not published | Patch 1.0.007 added more hints for it, in the same line as Trial By Thrust. The name points at the underwater layer that the Green Trench and submarine achievements also live in. Source: Patch 1.0.007 |
| Trial By Thrust | Not published | Also got extra hints in patch 1.0.007. Source: Patch 1.0.007 |
| Fred's Quest | Starts at Moonstep, Moon | The April 2026 demo event. Fred waits at the Moon base under a giant EEL'S EGGS WANTED sign; the objective sends you to a nearby ocean planet where 24 eel eggs are hidden below the surface, locatable by radar. Source: Devlog 2026-04-10 |
| Fred's Star | The water planet from Fred's Quest | The June 2026 demo finale. Fred's own account: the eel eggs were used as a power source, the water planet lost its water, the giant plants died, the Eel King is gone, and a blue star is closing on the surface. It was the last demo update before 1.0. Source: Devlog 2026-06-03 |
| Tutorial run | Earth | Ends with Baaa-ck To Headquarters, which asks you to bring the tutorial sheep to Headquarters. Completing the tutorial is its own achievement. Source: Steam achievements |
Named by players, not yet in a published source 13
These names come from Steam threads and from search demand. What each one asks for is not printed here, because no first-party source describes it yet — that is a gap this page will fill as patch notes name them.
| Objective | Where | What is known |
|---|---|---|
| Clima Bomb | Not published | The most-searched named objective in this game by a wide margin, and the subject of its own Steam thread. Source: Steam thread; search demand |
| Ice cream delivery | The Moon | A community moon-landing tutorial with 43,000 views ends by delivering ice cream to the moon base, which places this on the early Moon route. Source: Community video description |
| Lost In Transit | Not published | Searched alongside 'lost package', which suggests a recovery objective. Source: Search demand |
| Lost In The Snow | Not published | Points at a cold-surface world. Source: Search demand |
| Unstable Delivery | Not published | The store description mentions experimental power sources that cause mid-flight outages, and an energy crystal charging like a timer — this name fits that family. Source: Search demand; store description |
| Candy Flower / Candy Bouquet | Not published | Two separate Steam threads, plus one about blue, yellow and green candyflowers — so colour matters to the objective. Source: Steam threads |
| Triceratops Transport | Not published | Pairs with the Jurassic Surprise achievement for encountering a dinosaur, so live cargo is a recurring objective type. Source: Steam thread; Steam achievement |
| Moon Shipment | The Moon | A Steam thread titled Moon Shipment Trouble. Source: Steam thread |
| Void Watcher disk | Void Watcher base | Patch 1.0.009 fixed a collider on the huge satellite at the Void Watcher base, which confirms the location exists even though the objective is not described. Source: Steam thread; patch 1.0.009 |
| Red Tank | Not published | A Steam thread asks how to power it, so it is a wiring puzzle rather than a flight one. Source: Steam thread |
| Radioactive flower | Outcast | Two threads in two languages ask where to find it, one of them tying it to a radio component. Source: Steam threads |
| What Happened To Baobara | Baobara | A thread reports it as locked, which suggests a prerequisite chain. Source: Steam thread |
| Mastodon capture | The Moon | The Ice Age achievement needs a mastodon transported from the Moon to Earth alive; a Steam thread asks how to catch one at all, and a community guide covers getting animals' attention. Source: Steam achievement; Steam thread; community guide |
Objective list checked against patch notes and Steam discussions:
Two objectives are the reason the newest blocks exist: Tree Lid on Baobara hands you a Space GPS, and Operation Ghostfire on the Moon hands you three Massmeters. Both arrived in patch 1.0.104 — the updates page has the rest of that build.
