Approximately Up Patch Notes: Every Update

Approximately Up is developed by one person, and the release cadence shows it in a good way: 14 posts in the first 26 days after the August 6, 2026 launch, of which 12 carry a version number. On August 17 the developer answered the question people kept asking — the game will keep receiving significant updates for at least the next three to five years. Everything below is condensed from the official Steam news feed.

  1. 1.0.110

    Update: 1.0.110 (Undo/Redo)

    • Added Undo/Redo with history (up to 200 steps)!
    • Added an option to swap Undo/Redo keys (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y). Since key bindings are tied to physical keys, some keyboard layouts may prefer them swapped (for example, QWERTZ vs. QWERTY).
    • Added small transparent "FAST FORWARD 3x" text at the top-center of the screen while Fast Forward is active.
    • Improved the stability of packages on windy planets. Packages are now unaffected by wind or other forces before their first touch, so they should no longer glitch underground or get accidentally blown away by wind until you reach them.
    • Fixed a physics bug where moving a package in front of a running thruster could launch it away with insane force.
    • Updated hints for the Baobara Interference mission.
    • Reduced Magnetometer power usage from 15 P/s to 5 P/s.
    • Fixed electric circuits sometimes working even when cables were burned, or cables not burning when they should under high power usage.
  2. 1.0.105

    Micro update: 1.0.105

    • Fixed being unable to jump on the surface of planets without an atmosphere after recent patch changes.
    • Fixed key bindings sometimes not being saved. They now save immediately whenever you edit them instead of only when exiting a seat. Previously, for example, entering a seat, changing a key binding, and then quitting to the Main Menu could cause the change to be lost.
    • Fixed the Thermometer.
    • Improved close-range collision detection for the Long Range Distance Meter and Distance Meter.
    • Fixed missing localization for the new Space Scanner Manual page.
    • When picking a block from the Inventory with RMB, the Inventory will now automatically close.
  3. 1.0.104

Small update: 1.0.104 (Space GPS, Massmeter!)

    • Added a new block: Space GPS - must be mounted outside the spaceship with at least 60% free space around it to work properly. When placed correctly, it outputs space coordinates relative to the center of the universe (the Sun): distance, longitude, and latitude.
    • Added a new block: Massmeter - measures the mass of the spaceship it is mounted on. Its output updates automatically, for example after decoupling.
    • Added 1x Space GPS as a reward for the "Tree Lid" mission on Baobara.
    • Added 3x Massmeter as a reward for the "Operation Ghostfire" mission on the Moon.
    • Added a new manual entry for the Space Scanner.
    • Added a new manual entry for Solar Storms, explaining how they work and how to tell when you enter their deadly zone.
    • Fixed Delay internal values not being saved to Time Rewind savepoints.
    • Fixed the 3D model of Lever Vertical Half.
  4. 1.0.100

Update: 1.0.100 (Fast Forward, Pause, ...)

    • Added Pause and Fast Forward to the Time Controls menu (default: P), alongside Time Rewind.
    • Both Pause and Fast Forward work in singleplayer and multiplayer.
    • Fast Forward speeds up the entire simulation by 3x. Nothing is skipped or simplified—the whole simulation simply runs faster.
    • Because the game has to simulate 3x as much, Fast Forward uses more CPU resources and may reduce FPS.
    • Added a blinking sound when you are about to complete an objective, when the required item starts glowing.
    • QoL: Right-clicking an item in the inventory list now puts it directly into your hand without needing to assign it to the hotbar first.
    • Highlighted the middle line of the Gyro-Line to make the center of the screen easier to see.
    • Changed Fullstar/Halfstar into 3 individual stars. Performance & Simulation:
  5. More Updates Are Coming!

    • Hey everyone! Many of you have been asking and wondering the same thing: “ Will this game receive more updates, or is the 1.0 release final ?” My answer is straightforward: YES! APPROXIMATELY UP WILL KEEP RECEIVING SIGNIFICANT UPDATES FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 3–5 YEARS! This is just the beginning! I’ve
  6. 1.0.012

    Micro update: 1.0.012

    • Changed all integer/float switches to default to Float instead of Integer, since the majority of components output values in the 0–1 range.
  7. 1.0.011

    Small update: 1.0.011

    • Added labels to Wireless Transmitters
    • Added contact areas to the ports on Frame Quarter With Ports, allowing you to attach components directly to them
    • Added switches to Camera Overlay inputs to toggle between displaying integer and float values
    • Added a switch to Datameter and Large Datameter to toggle between displaying integer and float values
    • When unlocking a new manual, a highlighted green tip will now appear in the bottom-left corner of the screen (so you know you have something new to check)
    • When unlocking a new objective, a highlighted green tip will now appear in the bottom-left corner of the screen (so you know you have something new to check)
  8. 1.0.010

    Small update: 1.0.010

    • Fixed the Workshop "Most Popular" sorting filter, page loading, missing results, and improved overall search clarity. Previously, when searching for new results, it often looked like the first page was skipped and pages 2, 3, 4, 5... were loaded instead, causing incorrect-looking results. This should now work properly.
    • Fixed incorrectly assigned renderers on Nanoframe Quarter With Ports, which could cause visually connected ports to mismatch.
    • Removed the white-noise overlay from monitors when using an unpowered source as the Secondary Input. The Primary Input will still display white noise when unpowered, but if, for example, you connect a Camera Overlay that is turned off as the Secondary Input, it will now simply be ignored instead of displaying white noise over the Primary Input.
  9. 1.0.009

    Small update: 1.0.009

    • Improved Frame Quarter With Ports — when you connect a cable to a port on one side, the same port will now appear on the opposite side of the entire connected frame chain. Port labels A, B, C, D will also stay consistent and match on both sides.
    • Fixed the geometry of the Middle Window.
    • Fixed the geometry of the Small Switch, Small Button, and Stick Switch.
    • Fixed an incorrect collider on the huge satellite at the Void Watcher base.
    • Updated the Medium Fuel Thruster paintable area to match the Small and Large Fuel Thrusters.
    • Fixed the description of Wireless Transmitters — their actual range is 2000m, not the previously stated 100m (it was 100m in the Demo).
    • Fixed the camera being locked in Cinematic Mode while seated.
  10. 1.0.008

    Small update: 1.0.008

    • Fixed the Axis Rotometer hitbox
    • Fixed the remaining Axis Rotometer issues — it should now work as intended
    • Fixed Plasma Cables not being paintable
    • Fixed Autohemisphere Solar Panels not returning to their original position after leaving Fly Mode
    • Added painting support for cable holders — when you paint a cable, its holder (the small stick connecting it to the nearest frame) will now be painted as well
    • Swapped Yaw and Roll on the front panel of the RCS Controller to match the layout of the output ports on the back and reduce confusion
    • You can now open the Manual while sitting in a seat
    • Added support for inputting negative speed values into the BPS (will be interpreted as absolute value)
  11. 1.0.007

    Small update: 1.0.007

    • Fixed compatibility issues with Metal devices
    • Fixed the incorrect default keybind for "Pick the component you're looking at into your hand". It was accidentally set to the mouse side button due to a typo (`Mouse3` instead of `Mouse2`). The default is now correctly set to the middle mouse button
    • Fixed a typo in the pipe descriptions
    • Added more hints for the Drop The Depth Diver and Trial By Thrust objectives
    • Fixed the Fuel Analyzer mode knob not being saved in blueprints
    • Added options to invert the mouse X and Y axes while seated
  12. 1.0.006

    Small update: 1.0.006

    • Fixed the Fuse Box being unable to turn back on
    • Fixed the Axis Rotometer outputting incorrect values - it now correctly outputs signed values for the local axes
    • Fixed the preview of the Large Disposable Battery
    • Added credits and a short startup screen
    • Added "Objectives Completion: XX%" to the bottom of the Objectives Log, so you can easily track how much of the full game you've completed and get a better idea of the game's overall size
  13. 1.0.005

    Small update: 1.0.005

    • Added customizable hotbar keybinds. You can now rebind the default 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 hotbar keys to anything you prefer. Fixed the "Logic Gate OR" incorrectly behaving like an AND gate. Added a message when connecting to a host with a different game version, indicating whether you or the
