Approximately Up Roadmap: What Is Confirmed
Most roadmap pages are wish lists. This one is split three ways instead: what the developer has stated in writing, what has already shipped out of that statement, and the things people keep asking about that have never been announced at all. The source for the first two sections is a single devlog dated August 17, 2026, plus the patch notes that followed it within a fortnight.
Confirmed by the developer (devlog, August 17, 2026)
- Approximately Up will keep receiving significant updates for at least the next 3-5 years — the developer's own words, capitalised in the original post
- Mirroring of individual components and whole selections
- Rotating writable labels by 180 degrees
- Emergency door opening if doors lose power during a crash
- Data Plotter
Already shipped from that list (August 2026)
- Pausing the game in singleplayer — shipped 1.0.100, August 21
- Speeding up simulation time — shipped 1.0.100 as Fast Forward 3x
- Undo button — shipped 1.0.110, August 31, with 200 steps of history
- A block that measures spaceship weight — shipped 1.0.104 as the Massmeter
Not announced
- Console versions. Xbox, PS5 and 'is it on console' are among the most-searched questions about this game and no developer statement about them exists as of September 1, 2026
- Native controller or HOTAS support — an open Steam thread, no patch note
- Mac or Linux builds — the Steam page lists Windows only
Four items on the developer's August list shipped within two weeks of it being written — the updates page has each of those patches. For launch-state and platform details, see the release date page.
